Ashish Desai, CFA, is the founder, CEO, and portfolio manager of Desai Capital Management (DCM), and has over 17 years of investment management experience. Prior to founding DCM in 2013, Mr. Desai built a successful decade-plus career in the financial industry, including both equity research and investment management committee responsibilities at different funds. At DCM, Mr. Desai is responsible for all investment activities, including target client allocations, broad macroeconomic analysis, and individual equity research analysis. As a practicing member of the investment community, he brings a very practical approach to teaching stock analysis. Mr. Desai was also an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler School of Business, instructing MBA and undergraduate students in the Applied Investment Course that focused on fundamental stock analysis. He trained several teams to compete in national competitions. He also has extensive knowledge in data analysis. He is a CFA Charter holder, and member of the CFA Institute. Mr. Desai holds an MBA (Finance) from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, a Masters in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors (Economics) from the University of California at Los Angeles. In addition to his work at DCM, he currently tutors students for all levels of their CFA exam. He has mentored students at the high school level to gain admission to various elite universities.
